The partners of Integrated River Basin Management (IRM) attach great importance to the protection of your privacy. We ensure that your personal data (personal information) are treated confidentially, in accordance with privacy legislation. If we ask for your personal data on this online platform, we will explain why we need them. We also indicate how long IRM will keep your personal data.
Personal Data
If you use this online Platform and IRM’s services, we may sometimes require data from you. You provide these data, for example, via a form on this website, by e-mail, or telephone. This may include your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. We process your personal data when we have a legal basis to do so.
For example, for the purpose of:
- performance of our duties pertaining to public law,
- sending a newsletter or an invitation,
- ensuring that we can call you if this is necessary to perform our services or following a request from you,
- applying other legal obligations.
IRM will not store personal data for longer than is required or specified in legislation to achieve the purposes for which it is collected.
Security of your data
IRM takes appropriate measures to protect personal data against abuse, loss, unauthorized access, and other undesirable actions. These measures are included in our information security policy, in accordance with the applicable standards for public communications. We ensure that your personal data will not be lost or used by individuals who should not have your data. For example, if you have submitted a query, your personal data can only be viewed by employees who are dealing with your query.

Your rights
The European Privacy legislation (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR) grants you a number of rights when an organization processes your personal data.
For example, you have the right to view, rectify, and erase your personal data. You can also request information on what personal data we have from you and what they are used for. To do this, you need to make an appointment to visit us. For this, it is important that you can identify yourself and prove that the personal data actually belongs to you. It is not permitted to view the data of other persons.

Data Protection Officer
The Data Protection Officer of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management checks whether we comply with all the rules that apply to privacy. This Data Protection Officer also provides advice on the proper handling and protection of personal data.

The Dutch Data Protection Authority
In the Netherlands, the Dutch Data Protection Authority is the organization that supervises the correct application of the rules and laws that apply with regards to privacy. The Data Protection Officer is the contact person on behalf of IRM. You can personally contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
